Choir Carpet

The large Choir Carpet is the work of the Manufacture royale de la Savonnerie workhops, based on drawings of Jacques-Louis Saint-Ange (1780-1860). Made of wool and completed in 1833, the carpet is 200m2. Philippe d'Orléans, Count of Paris, grandson of King Louis-Philippe and heir to the throne, was baptized at Notre-Dame Cathedral on May 2, 1841, during a sumptuous ceremony presided over by Bishop Affre.
