Statue of Saint Mark
The Evangelist Saint Mark is represented in the form of a winged lion. He holds a closed book, representing the gospel of which he is the author. Located on the north-west corner of the spire, this copper statue was designed by Eugene Viollet-le-Duc, sculpted by Adolphe Victor Geoffroy-Dechaume and produced by the Alteliers Monduit in 1861.
